Tom Cruise and Scientology
A video made in 2004 at a scientology ceremony honoring Tom Cruise for his humanitarian work and showing him promoting scientology created the buzz these last days. "I think it's a privilege to call yourself a Scientologist, and it's something you have to earn," Cruise says in the video, adding he's "driven... by the opportunity to really help, for the first time, change people's lives. I'm absolutely, uncompromisingly dedicated to that." .. The church calls pirated (and edited) the version that appeared on YouTube and that has been taken off since that time. A part of the interview entitled "The Cruise Indoctrination Video Scientology Tried To Suppress" remained available on the celebrity web site gawker.com
The video's appearance comes as the Andrew Morton's book about the Hollywood star, the author of a controversial biography of Diana, Princess of Wales, alleges that the actor ranks second in command in the Church of Scientology. The church called Morton's book, Tom Cruise An Unauthorised Biography, "a bigoted, defamatory assault replete with lies" in a 15-page statement.

L'apparition de la vidéo sur la toile coïncide avec la publication du livre d'Andrew Morton sur la star hollywoodienne, l'auteur d'une biographie controversée sur Diana, la princesse de Galles, prétend que l'acteur est le numéro 2 dans la hiérarchie de l'église de scientologie. L'église a qualifié le livre de Morton, Tom Cruise Une Biographie Non Autorisée, d'assaut diffamatoire entièrement mensonger dans un communiqué de 15 pages.

Youtube saw its PageRank falling by several points, but no change would have occured in rankings, finally Youtube got back its PageRank.
