FICGS is a fast-growing organization, player community and an international correspondence chess server. Here you can play chess online for free in rated class tournaments, two players matches and a unique correspondence chess world championship in a big knockout & round-robin tournament. The winner of each cycle will play the world champion in a 12 games match.

We also organize special events, thematic chess, chess 960, big chess, poker tournaments, some with money prizes. Check the waiting lists.

At last on FICGS, you can play online Go (围棋, 圍棋, wéiqí, wei-ch'i, baduk) tournaments and world championship. Eros Riccio is the new FICGS chess champion...

After his win in the final match of the 17th FICGS world chess championship, Eros remains FICGS correspondence chess champion. Is it still possible to beat him while the most advanced chess engines reach new peaks? Chessfriends meeting in Lucca...

Internet chess is one way among others to meet new friends, and sometimes two correspondence chess players from different countries meet for real, that's what happened to SIM Eros Riccio (winner of the 1st & 3rd FICGS freestyle cup & 8th Playchess freestyle tournament, Italia) and Thibault de Vassal (FICGS webmaster, France) who met in Lucca, Italia. Of course, it was a good time to play a few blitz games over the board ! It was years ago already, this website was young and Eros was not a top-5 ICCF player yet and the multi-titled champion that he is now.
