Comment by player 2 : Thibault de Vassal :

I played several awful moves in this game to avoid a draw and complicate the position as much as possible. It just turned badly against me quite early and I was very near to loose it.

White annihilated Black's plan in the opening, and after I play several dubious moves : 16.b4 ! and Black is in real danger, maybe lost... In my opinion key-move is 20. ...Nd5 ! only one giving hope to Black, "protecting" b7-a8 squares. But that's really hard to prove, there was many hard lines to envisage for White.

Thanks for the lesson, Nigel.. :)

Morphy was probably the greatest genius of them all. (Bobby Fischer)

Was ist passiert?, fragt Lombardy. Ich stehe schlecht, antwortet Fischer. Lombardy: Dann biete doch einfach Remis an.

(Anonyme)

Control your own destiny or someone else will. (Jack Welch)
