Che cosa è il processor migliore?

Ciao, vorrei comprare un nuovo calcolatore che sarebbe realmente veloce. Il mio scopo è fare i videos abbastanza complessi su 3dSmax che il mio vecchio Sempron non può calcolare in più meno d'una settimana. Leggo che il IntelCore i7 è oggi i processor migliori, ma che uno è la scelta migliore secondo voi?

Leggo che ci sono i nuovi 980x chiamati i7 con 6 nuclei che sono molto più veloci di tutti gli altri ma il relativo prezzo probabilmente sarà dalle mie possibilità, a proposito che cosa è il relativo prezzo?

Così pensate che il QuadCore i7-920 o i7-860 sia abbastanza per questo genere di mansioni o dovrebbe io prevedere già un'unità di trattamento veloce?  Comprereste un Athlon X2 da AMD che è molto più poco costoso?  Realmente non capisco se le relative prestazioni possono essere confrontate ai processor di Intel…
