Sidney Govou
French footballer Sidney Rodrigue Noukpo Govou, born 27 July 1979 and of Beninese descent, plays for Lyon & French national team. Well known for his technique and pace, he is an attacking player commonly used as a winger and rarely plays as a striker. When the 09/10 season started, he became the Lyon's team captain after Juninho Pernambucano left but he was stripped of captaincy since.
Le footballeur professionnel français Sidney Govou, né le 27 juillet 1979 au Puy-en-Velay et d'origine béninoise, évolue au poste d'ailier à l'Olympique lyonnais. Parmi ses particularités, il n'a rejoint un centre de formation qu’à l'âge de dix-sept ans, avant de débuter à l’Olympique lyonnais 3 ans après. Le nom de Sidney Govou fait la une pour la première fois pendant la saison 2000-2001, auteur d'un doublé pendant le match contre le Bayern Munich en Ligue des champions. Il sera élu par ses "collègues" meilleur espoir du championnat à la fin de la saison. S'ensuit une série de sept victoires en championnat avec l'Olympique lyonnais. Il rentre en équipe de France en août 2002.
