Where to play Poker online ?

Money games online, particularly virtual Poker rooms & online casinos are a very lucrative industry nowadays. Players from all over the world just have to connect to one of the numerous "houses", register for free, try the poker software then send money with an impressive bonus calculated to attract the largest number of players & amount of money.

Then another story begins, poker is a very exciting game that can turn into a quite long and boring game when becoming a virtual "job" and facing strong opponents. Of course it is a money game, the best players are just doing their job, they can play on several tables at once and take money from other players quite quickly, but they don't. They have to find quite weak opponents first, make them dream first, finally take the money. But the internet is a place where everything goes faster, even faster and faster.

Last year, an enormous poker scandal appeared when it was revealed on the 2+2 poker forums that there were super users accounts at UltimateBet and Absolute Poker, two very well known rooms owned by Tokwiro Enterprise ENRG, run by Joe Norton, the former Grand Chief of the Mohawk Territory of Kahnawake. The temptation was obviously too big for some people running there rooms and it has become obvious when looking at the statistics that a few players had too many aces in the hand. The two rooms then changed their name and became Cereus, the 6th largest poker network, after Pokerstars, Fulltilt Poker, Ipoker, Party Poker, Ongame and Everest Poker.

There are many other well-known rooms with a great interface where playing for free, just for fun, can give you good time. But it is often encouraging to read stories about guys who make thousand of dollars a week, everything seem easy then many players try to play for real money and like in every tournament, at the end there is only one winner, and sometimes the only winner is the "house". Times are hard, the stock market crisis hit the virtual casinos also and the temptation will be even more around money gaming, while taking account of the past errors. Is it still reasonable to play money in chancy games online, by the way if it was reasonable one day.

Anyway, all rooms are good places to play for free, you may also play in a more competitive way in a quite different and friendly community like here at FICGS. What do you think ?

Les jeux d'argent en ligne sont devenus ces dernières années une industrie très lucrative. On peut jouer au poker holdem par exemple ici bien sûr et dans pratiquement n'importe quel casino en ligne. Il est en effet devenu très simple pour les joueurs du monde entier d'avoir accès à ce type de casinos devenus de plus en plus alléchants, munis d'interfaces à la pointe des technologies internet et proposant des bonus toujours plus hallucinants au moment de franchir le pas d'envoyer de l'argent.

Alors commence une toute autre histoire, le poker est un jeu excitant, l'un des plus joué ces dernières années, mais peut rapidement devenir ennuyeux lorsqu'on en fait un métier et que l'on doit affronter de bons joueurs en ligne dans des parties interminables. Bien sûr, le poker est un jeu d'argent avant tout et les bons joueurs font leur job, à la recherche de pigeons qu'ils peuvent se permettre de faire rêver en jouant à plusieurs tables virtuelles en même temps, avant de leur prendre leur argent. Mais internet est un endroit où tout va plus vite, et de plus en plus vite.

L'année dernière un scandale énorme fut révélé sur les forums de poker twoplustwo (2+2), mettant en avant l'utilisation de super utilisateurs sur les salles de poker en ligne UltimateBet et Absolute Poker, toutes deux tenues par Tokwiro Enterprise ENRG, dirigé par Joe Norton, ancien grand chef du territoire Mohawk Kahnawake. La tentation aura sans doute été trop grande pour certaines personnes s'occupant de ces sites et les statistiques ont fini par montrer que les as finissaient un peu trop souvent dans certaines mains. Les deux salles de poker ont alors fusionné et changé de nom, devenant Cereus, le 6ème réseau de poker en ligne, après Pokerstars, Fulltilt Poker, Ipoker, Party Poker, Ongame et Everest Poker.

Il y a beaucoup d'autres salles de poker en ligne reconnues avec une très bonne interface, où jouer pour le plaisir, sans argent, peut vous aider à passer un bon moment. Mais il est souvent encourageant de lire les histoires contant les mérites de joueurs gagnant des milliers de dollars chaque semaine, tout semble alors facile et de nombreux joueurs s'essayent alors au jeu pour de l'argent réel, et comme dans tout tournoi, à la fin il n'y a qu'un seul vainqueur, et parfois le seul vainqueur est la "maison". Les temps sont durs, la crise du marché boursier frappe les casinos en ligne également et la tentation rôdera d'autant plus autour des jeux d'argent, tout en tenant compte des erreurs passées. Est-il toujours raisonnable de jouer de l'argent dans des jeux de hasard en ligne, d'ailleurs le fut-ce un jour ?

Toutes les salles de poker en ligne sont de bons endroits où jouer gratuitement, il est également tout à fait possible de jouer pour le plaisir de la compétition dans une communauté amicale et différente comme ici à FICGS.
