Problema com o Sims 3

Bom-dia, o meu problema com o Sims 3 é que o jogo não começa mais, o carregamento é parado após a vídeo e não se passa mais nada após. Sabe como arranjar aquilo?  Devo instalá-lo todo de novo ou não?  Corro o risco de perder as minhas partes em curso?  Pode-se copiar os ficheiros das partes e entregar-o após?

Resumida, como faz para resolver o problema e o jogo eventualmente reinstalar sem estar a perder os personagens já criados?
