How to make 301 redirect ?

Hi,

I need to know how to make a 301 redirect for my website, I just noticed that my link popularity was divided between www.mydomain.com and mydomain.com

Thanks for your help !

Hello,

I encountered this problem too. Here is a part of my .htaccess file with a Redirect 301, it may help you.

Options +FollowSymlinks
RewriteEngine on

RewriteCond %{HTTPS} !=on
RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^ficgs.com [NC]

RewriteRule ^(.*)$  h**p://www.ficgs.com/$1 [R=301,NC]


In my case, I had to redirect 301 only the http://ficgs.com towards http://www.ficgs.com

h**ps://ficgs.com is not redirected thanks to the first RewriteCond

Of course you should replace h**p by http .. it was there to avoid to create a link to an inexistant page in the forum only
