Chinese chess

Hello,

I play chess here at FICGS, I do not play Xiangqi (chinese chess) but I read that there are more chinese chess players than chess players in the world. I am quite surprised as I hardly understand the rules and it is rare to read anything about it in the news, so what do you think about chinese chess compared to chess ?

Also do you know good internet places to learn the fundamentals of chinese chess ?
