Play the game

Black has just played its 4th move. What are the moves of this strange opening?

Les Noirs viennent de jouer leur 4ème coup. Quels sont les coups de cet étrange début?

Interesting !

Hmmm...

Thibault de Vassal    (2007-11-26 15:36:35)
Impossible ?

In my opinion, the level of these players may be so low that the first black move could be 1. ...c6,e6 (using old chess rules), or they played a few illegal moves :)

Black can't have played 1. ...e6 2. ...c6 3. ...dxc6 (dxe6) , White can't have taken the pawn is d7 .. so what ? .. or am I just becoming crazy :)

Guy Sobrecases    (2007-11-26 16:05:41)
No trick!

Well tried, but the game is legal, according to the current chess rules. These are only 4 moves, come on!! :-)

Thibault de Vassal    (2007-11-26 17:47:30)
Ilmars found it...

I was wrong, actually the bishop takes pawn d7... Ilmars found the nice trick (I suppose everyone saw it in the chat) : 1.e4 e6 2.Bb5 Ke7 3.Bxd7 c6 4.Be8 Kxe8

Congrats Ilmars :)

Congratulations Ilmars

Thats a short Proof Game, but not so easy. I has been created by the Hungarian problemist, Tibor ORBAN, and published in the German review "Die Schwalbe" in 1976, where it has been awarded (Commendation).
