Back to problems Thibault de Vassal (2006-11-13 18:06:55) Khachian - Aslanov A great chess problem to begin : Khachian - Aslanov (URSS 1986) White to move & win... ChessPosition (see diagram)
Ilmars Cirulis (2006-11-14 01:47:07) ? I thought some time (without engine). And I think - 1.Nh5+ Bxh5 2.Rxh5 is the best - with very good (IMO winning) game for white. That will be my choise OTB. White have h line forever or passed pawn on it. Then I looked with engine and saw what a great (much greater) possibility I missed! :) Thanks! Ilmars Josef Riha (2006-11-19 23:47:02) Re: ? With Nef5 I was on the wrong way. But the Computer moved Rh7! Kg8 Rh6. Ilmars Cirulis (2006-11-20 23:29:24) ! Hi, Riha! Yes, move 1.Rh7 is beatiful. Another brilliant move is possible too - 1.Rh6. :) Josef Riha (2006-11-20 23:46:37) ! Hello Ilmars, I know. Only one engine did this move :-) Greetings, Josef.
