how does one retain previous move msgs?

Often when a player responds to my own messages, when they reply, they are able to "quote" my previous message, formatted left-indented with the ">" character prepended to each line.

How does one (easily) do that? Thanks in advance ..

It should be automatic... Not the case for you? Do you use the slow move process?
