I’ve always wanted tinted windows on my vehicle. To me, they conjure up images of luxury – and, as a private person, I like the idea that I can see out, but other folks can’t see in. And while I’ve always wanted it, I’ve never gone for it, until I recently learned that window tinting was a practical way to reduce heat and risks of exposure to UV rays.
With that in mind, I headed to the good folks at California Audio, who were conveniently offering a discount on tinting services. Their service provides a film which effectively reduces UV exposure by 99% – impressive! The staff was incredibly knowledgeable and friendly, took a look at my vehicle, they gave me a long comprehensive estimate before proceeding with any service. I felt comfortable knowing exactly what I was getting into. No surprises at this shop.
Upon having my tint applied, and driving away, I immediately noticed a difference. They cited a heat reduction of 63%, but I was more impressed than I anticipated. My car is older, and I’m used to climbing into what feels like an oven. Despite my car having been parked in the hot sun for some time, it wasn’t as intolerable as usual. Within just a few minutes of the AC running, I felt comfortable.
Additionally, as mentioned earlier, tinting has the effect of reducing UV exposure. Skin cancer seems to run in my family, and hence, I’m acutely concerned about risks of being in the sun. Now with my tints, I can drive around with peace of mind that I’ve done everything I can to protect my skin, and my family.
