| Google Watch: All the latest news from inside Google (2015-01-23) “If you choose a harder problem to tackle, you'll have less competition.” This is the motto of Google cofounder Larry Page, and from the looks of it, is the theme the company goes by. Whether it providing people with a car that knows every turn or the ability to translate almost any language on the fly, one thing’s for sure, the minds at Google never rest. On our Google watch, we are going to talk about some of the new projects that are in the pipeline. Project Ara Google’s project Ara is intriguing to say the least. The modular phone has been designed in a way that makes the user choose not only the color of the case, but also the components that go along with it. Want to change the location of your phone’s camera? The new modular phone lets you switch components around the frame of the phone and pick and choose the parts that you want in your mobile device. Pretty neat for those who can’t make up their minds on phone options. The new modular phone will be in stores by the second half of this year. Google Cardboard While Google Glass has been getting quite a bit of attention, people seem to have forgotten that Google made some serious announcements regarding its VR viewer. Apart from confirming the use of new apps and a dozen or so places where the device will be sold, Google has had plenty of time to work on the device since then, which means that we should see some serious improvements in Cardboard 2 when it comes to games and apps. Cardboard is the most likely Google product to take center stage in 2015. Razer Forge TV Google plans to take Android gaming to a whole new level in 2015, and we all got a glimpse of what is in store for us at the 2015 CES, where the Razer Forge TV was introduced. The device is powered by Google’s Android OS and allows users to play Android games on their TV with the help of a quad core processor and gaming grade graphics. And while the product isn’t solely Google’s, it does run on their OS. While we are talking about TVs, Sony has announced its plan to use Android TV in all of its models for 2015, so we are sure to spend plenty of time with Google products in the coming year, even if we don’t know it. Android Auto Apart from introducing its line of wearables, as in the Google watch, the company has taken up an even more important space with its self driving car concept. The self driving car is already in its prototype stage and is currently undergoing road safety tests. But, the most important thing of all is that the car is able to drive by itself, and by the looks of it, knows who to do that pretty well. And with news of Google signing deals with many car manufacturers who are interested in Android Auto, you can bet that there will be much more car talk from Google in 2015. Ending Note So, there you have it, the round up of all the latest news of Google and its products that have been planned for 2015. | Become a fan |
