You need start having pain relieving medication prescribed from your doctor and then recommendation of cold packs to be applied on the affected area. After a few weeks preference is for hot packs and warm pads. Your doctor would expect you to wear special soles to correct the alignment of your big toe if that doesn’t lead to further deformity of other Claw toes. You could also be advised to walk using special shoes designed for such reasons and fill fit you well. If the condition is bad enough to be treated then an operation might be advised. The surgery is called bunionectomy. The surgery involves realigning the bone behind the big toe by cutting the ligaments at the joint.
