Unable to stay connected to FICGS

After logging in to FICGS, if I stay on any page for more than a few secs. I will not be able to click on any links (eg. submitting a move). If I click on anything, I will get the following error..

No data received
Unable to load the webpage because the server sent no data.

Can anyone shed some light on this problem? Thanks.

I have the same problem is another program is running but not if only the browser is running. Maybe it has to do with the browser...

Quite strange... what browser do you use? Is FICGS the only site you encountered this problem with?

I use Firefox. Don't know about any other sites as this PC (with Windows 7) is only used for FICGS games.

But it happens rarely or always when you run these other programs? Really curious. This is probably a computer issue but that's hard to be sure.

I think the issue has to do with my browser not responding fast enough to the server, so the server thinks there is no one here.

This seems to happen only when Houdini is running and using all cores 100% of the time.

I get a slightly different issue. After about two weeks, I will get a message saying unable to recognise password- or a message to that effect, and then I have to use the link to reset password.

It occurs using the same computer and browser, so I do not believe there is an issue between switching computers that could throw off the server.

Ah... Ok! Indeed, when you're running a chess engine while surfing the internet EVERYTHING can happen :)

I saw that also... Browser not responding, not loading a page (so disconnecting after a while) and so on... This is a computer issue, as Microsoft Windows is not able to do several things at once as Unix can do.

MS Windows 7 dated 2011; Unix dated 1975. Ha!

Hello to all, open the taskmanager and then set the priority of iexplore or whatever you use to high.

This will solve most of the problems.
