If you're running a heavy gunner setup in Helldivers 2, it helps to think less about raw damage and more about staying useful when the fight gets messy. A solid kit gives you room to breathe, and that matters when enemies keep spawning from every angle. Know When to Back OffHeavy armor gives you more room for mistakes, but it does not turn you into a walking wall. If ammo is low, your stratagems are on cooldown, and the enemy keeps pouring in, it's usually smarter to pull back and reset. Retreating can open up resupply options, buy time for cooldowns, and help the squad get its footing again. The players who live longest on higher difficulties are often the ones who know when to stop forcing a fight. That little bit of discipline matters more than people think, especially when the mission is already starting to wobble. Finish Strong as a TeamOne thing that never really changes is that good squads beat flashy solo play. People who communicate, share supplies, and revive quickly make the whole run feel easier. Random groups tend to fall apart because someone chases kills, someone forgets the objective, or someone gets annoyed and starts kicking teammates for no good reason. A heavy gunner can do a lot, sure, but not everything. The best runs happen when everyone covers a different angle and nobody tries to act like they're carrying the whole map, and that's why the smartest players keep a few cheap Helldivers 2 Items in mind for the builds they use most often.
