In forum, I would like to have the option to be able to see the newer posts at the top of each topic, rather than having to scroll down through 50 older posts to get to the most recent postings.

There does not seem to be a feature to show new posts first.

Please add :)

You mean something like the last message at the bottom of the forum page? I may display several (5, 10) messages instead of 1 only, would it be enough?

What I mean is. Take this particular thread/topic. As I see it, my original post is the first post I see, then your reply is under it and now my reply (this post) will be under that.

It would be nice to have the option so that the newest posts appear first at the top of the page for that particular topic.

To use another example. With the current poker discussion, for a person to see the latest posts, they are required to scroll down, most likely past posts they have already read to get to the new posts.

It would be good to have the option in preferences to be able to see the newest posts first.

Do you understand what I am referring to now?

So an option to display the forum posts in a reversed way ?!

Not so usual (?), it seems to me that posts are displayed this way only under the response form to keep an eye on the message we're to reply to.

Agreed with Garvin. Now, then you enter the long discussion, you already red, you need to scroll down in order to find "what's new".
Reverse order will be much more user friendly.

I'll second that too. It's called top posting. Much easier to read if one has been keeping up with the thread.

On the other hand if you have not visited a post your gonna have to scroll all of the way to the bottom to find out what its all about. The way it is now is the normal way, I prefer it

Wayne: You have the title and the previous post right there. Only if you're interested in the entire thread do you have to scroll, and you still have to do that the way it is now.

whats wrong with having the option? Then people can have whichever way they prefer it.

Thinking about it, actually I should change many things in this forum (e.g. response form at the bottom for the way messages are displayed right now...) I'm not sure if top posting is best but an option would do it of course, I'll do it as soon as possible (not so urgent anyway).

How is the concept of top posting going? We are now at over 100 posts in the rybka tourney thread and it is getting tedious having to scroll down all the time, just to read the last few posts.

If there was top posting, then the latest posts that I want to see would be visible first.

Top posting is not better than the current setup. You need to set a maximum # of posts per page and then links at the top for each page. That way you will never scroll down.

Hi Garvin, is it better with the "last post" link? ;)
