How to convert DVD to MP4 and enjoy DVD

This tutorial is designed to help you get started using Wondershare DVD to MP4 Converter to convert DVD to MP4, Xvid AVI and M4V, and rip DVD to audio of MP3 and M4A. Then you can transfer the converted DVD movies to your portable players such as iPod, iPhone, PSP, Creative Zen, iRiver PMP, Archos and other popular MP4 players and enjoy them anytime and anywhere.
Please download Wondershare DVD to MP4 Converter first, install and run it. After following the steps below, you can easily finish converting DVD movies to MP4, Xvid AVI, M4V, MP3 and M4A.

Step 1: Load DVD movies
Loading DVD movie will be your first step. Click "File" in menu list or "Add" button, you are allowed to load DVDs from DVD Rom/Folder(data DVD)/IFO/ISO files respectively.

Wondershare DVD to MP4 Converter allows you to load DVD Rom/DVD folder/IFO files respectively via the following ways:
Load from DVD Rom:
You can click , to load DVD movie from DVD rom. All the DVD files from both DVD Rom and daemon tool will be automatically detected and recognized by the program.
Load DVD Folder (data DVD): Sometimes you may store the DVD folder in your hard drive; it appears like "Video_ts" "audio_ts" folders. You can load it by clicking either or

Load IFO Files: You are given the choice to directly load one or more IFO files under "Video_ts" folder by clicking

Step 2: Customize output settings
The second and the most important step is to select output settings. Here it is necessary for you to select the following output settings.
1) Output format
Select your desired output format from the categorized output formats list in "Profile" drop-down list, specify the output directory to save your converted files in "Output" drop-down list.
And you can set the related video/audio parameters (resolution, frame rate, video encoder, bit rate, sample rate and audio channel etc) in "Settings" window by clicking

Step 3: Start to convert
After everything is set up simply hit the Start button. A conversion progress screen will be shown during the process where you can preview the video. Users of slower systems will probably want to disable the preview as it uses more CPU cycles.
Besides the above simple operation of conversion, there are some tips which may be of great help to you.

Tip 1: Merge multi-files into one
If you want to keep all the titles contained in the DVD folder and make them into a whole. You can check "Merge into one file" option, and then you will get a complete DVD video after conversion by joining these multi-titles.
Tip 2: Adjust video effect
If you want to make some special effect to the video, you can realize it by setting brightness, contrast and saturation etc. You will get an intuitive preview of the video effect before and after adjusting with two real-time previewing panes.
Tip 3: Edit watermark
If you want to get a personalized video by adding some information to it as watermark, you can realize it by adding either text or image information. You are also allowed to resize the added text/image.
Tip 4: Capture picture from DVD
You can capture pictures from the DVD by clicking the "snapshot" button in the preview screen and save them as picture files.
