Gossip Girl season 1

Gossip Girl starts with the return of Serena van der Woodsen (Blake Lively). The other main characters are Blair Waldorf (Leighton Meester), Chuck Bass (Ed Westwick), Nate Archibald (Chace Crawford), Dan Humphrey (Penn Badgley), Vanessa Abrams (Jessica Szohr) and Jenny (Taylor Momsen).

Season 1 : The first episodes focus on why Serena left then returned: She slept with Blair's boyfriend Nate Archibald while Blair was supposed to be her best friend. But Serena now starts a new relationship with Dan Humphrey, a guy from Brooklyn with a very different family background. Later Georgina Sparks, an ancient friend of Serena, comes back to try to destroy her life. Actually the real reason why Serena left was that she & Georgina left the hotel where the man they were with took Serena's cocaine and started having a seizure. The two girls panicked and left while the man died. Fortunately for Serena, her friends will stop Georgina quite quickly, but Dan felt into the trap and sleeps with her before the end of the season.

Before that, Blair finally breaks up with Nate and starts a strange game with his best friend, the terrible Chuck Bass. Queen Bee will lose her throne to Dan's sister, Jenny. The other stories focus on the marriage of Lily (Serena's mother) with Bart Bass (Chuck's father), Nate's family problems with FBI, Rufus (Dan & Jenny's father) and his marriage.
