Back to forum George Jempty (2025-12-02) An indication for draw offers I sometimes make draw offers up to 3 at a time, once or twice a month. Sometimes they decline OFC, and it's hard to keep track. Some sort of indication would be appreciated. Perhaps it could be as simple as inserting {draw offer: declined} into the PGN Garvin Gray (2025-12-10 02:03:16) An indication for draw offers Sorry, deja vu again. ICCF already handles this topic. A player can only offer one draw every ten moves in a game, unless their opponent offers a draw in return. I have suggested this to Thibault previously and whilst he was receptive, it was not implemented. This solution would stop repetitive draw offers, either intentional or accidental (and accidental can happen with no equal sign applied to a draw offer in the notation) and also everyone would know when they last offered a draw in each game. George Jempty (2025-12-10 21:00:22) An indication for draw offers I do appreciate your responses Garvin as I'm not as experienced on the site, more "on and off", and mostly off, at that ;) George Jempty (2026-08-31 22:24:54) An indication for draw offers actually, I can just indicate offered draws in "personal notes" Problem solved! Thibault de Vassal (2026-09-04 16:52:45) An indication for draw offers Garvin is right... The thing is I coded this site way too fast, I should have implemented such features during its very first years, now it is way more complicated for many reasons but in short we have to avoid visible and invisible bugs before everything else. George Jempty (2026-09-05 23:35:36) An indication for draw offers Hmm, perhaps a "parallel" site could be developed with the best suggested features added, and certain other unused features eliminated. And then release is for beta testers, before a final release, and then users of ficgs could choose to stay, or move to the new site, but ficgs.com *would* eventually get retired, and merely redirect to the new site. In fact, I own a 7-letter domain that is ..chess.com! I would contribute both it, *and* my time as a developer. The code could be open-sourced and hosted on github. Bear in mind, I'm getting on in age, 63 now. Other developers would need to be involved. But this would address issues such as you, Thib, sometimes being unavailable for to address certain issues in a timely manner. As always though, I'm always more of an "idea guy". In any case I could share my resume/github with you. A couple of things I've developed are, a "micro" PHP/MVC framework (20 years ago!) that was downloaded over 7K times from code.google.com before it got automatically migrated to Github. And, over a dozen years ago, a Tcl-based platform for developing desktop .exe applications from web-technologies (HTML, Javascript and CSS), its predecessors being Adobe AIR, and its followers including Electron Does any of this sound appealing?
