Arthur Alfred Macarsindale


I was born in London on 10 February,1912 and have played since I was taught in 1921.I joined the Royal Air Force in 1938 and was a fighter pilot manning Spitfires 1939-1940. I have 5 kills between July and September 1940. I was shot down over the North Sea and unable to do operational duties and was confined to desk duties for the duration of the Second World War.I now read,study and ,of course,play chess.I have been married five times and have 9 children,12 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.
