it looks as though the 'problems' section is for positions for humans to evaluate ... if that is the case please consider my prev post unposted :)

for 12 hours or so, and be done with it - this one is not the sort of positin that foxes engines :)

: white is simply better here

i'm not too sure about that! black has a nice bishop's pair and white has a decisively week c3 pawn, and possibly b4 as well. i would Qc7 where if white moves their knight Qxc3 follows; if Rc1 instead, black can simply move their Queen to safety....say Qb7, and can at least draw imho

: 2 Cirulis

given the slight material advantage i'd start trading off so i would Rxd8 followed by another rook take and then c5 if black recaptures with his second rook on d8, or c5 if he does so with his bishop. hence first takes and then c5. it seems like a slow process but white should win.

: Rxd8

One must starting evaluating the position. Despite the slight material advantage, White has some trouble due to the active position of Black pieces and his poorly situated bishop at b3. Thus IŽd think about 1.Rxd8. In case of 1...rxd8 2. Rxd8 Bxd8 3.Qd3 & 4.Bc2, or 1...Bxd8 2.Bc2, White has chances. In any case, I think Black has some compensation for the pawn and the final result is far from certain. Give me any colour and IŽd probably play for a win- -and, with any colour, I could lose!

: best move

i think white has clear advantage and has more than one option to win here...

: Rxd8

Yes but too risky i risky because the king is not safe.

: Rxd8

but Block what happens after Rxd8 Bxd8? White can still play c5

: Rxd8

I think it is a bad move. If black put his pawn to h3. It is dangerous. But i think white can win this game if he/she move the A or C pawn.

c5 looks necessary but anyway I can't see the end of the story...

: answer

What Ilmars said, then to prevent the black bishop on A8 wandering, you go Rd3 and k....f1 where it triangulates then k...b6 where black has to push a pawn. If black ever moves the b pawn you can eat it, then b4 and bc# or rxd4# wins.

: black or white

white is simply better here....black cant hold much longer.

: Re

First must be 1.Rd1+ Bd4 2.c4+ Kd6 3.Rxg1 Bg7 4.Rd1+ Bd4, imo. It looks like we must force all black pawns move to first line (to be eaten) and then get to queen our 'a' pawn, at first. But we have black bishop jumping from a8 to b7 and back.. Thinking... Any idea?
