The biggest alteration in Madden NFL 23 (2022-07-19)
Mut 23 Coins came out just unveiled as the most recent installment from EA Sports' American football simulation series. Ahead of its launch this August I was asked to test the Madden NFL 23 closed beta and try a taste of the changes coming to the.
The biggest alteration in Madden NFL 23 comes with the introduction of FieldSense the new method of playing on the field which could provide an important update to the gameplay. While my experience with the Closed Beta was limited to Play Now and Online Head to Head, I was able to spend lots of time exploring the changes in the new system.
What immediately stuck out to me the most was the tackling animations. After playing for a long time in Madden NFL 22 the game, you had likely seen most (if you didn't see all) of the tackling animations that the game had to offer several times over. When playing Madden NFL 23. the tackles felt much more dynamic, with players coming to assist in-progress tackles, as well as animations being interrupted by additional contact. There was a time when an offensive back was in between stiffening up one my defensive backs, when an unidentified lineman showed up and hit the running back before he could get him to shove the DB down.
The animations that branch mean that anything could happen before the whistle sounds. As I was playing with the Ravens I was running about on the field with Lamar Jackson when he was attacked by cornerback. As he made his journey to the ground, an inside linebacker appeared and took advantage of the tackle. The added force was sufficient to release the ball from Jackson's hand just before he was able to hit the grass , which led to a turnover.
When playing as the ball-carrier in a game, players are prompted to press a button as fast as possible to possibly break out of an attack when contact is initiated. The ability to do so will depend on the strength of the ball and the defensive player. Other players who are assisting the tackle are able to stop a player from breaking out. These branching options will help players continue to play until the game is over, instead of Madden 23 Coins when an animation triggers.
