In 2013, when it first went on sale The PS4 has become not only one the most popular consoles from Sony, but it's also one the top-selling gaming platforms ever. But, Sony is now looking to sell the PS5 as its main equipment, which means the PS4 will eventually come to its end. As of now, thanks to new information from Sony it is now possible to get an idea of when the PS4 might actually go out of service.
In Sony's latest financial statement, it specified that games on PS4 will be gone in 2025. It doesn't mean, however, that old PS4 games won't be available for purchase, but Sony intends to have finished releasing new titles on the platform by this time.
However, by 2025, Sony is predicting that most of its revenues for games will come in the form of PlayStation 5, with titles on PC and mobile also bringing in the other half of its earnings.
All in all, this surely shouldn't come as a surprise considering that the PS5 will be Sony's primary priority in the years to future. Yet, it's important that, at the moment, it's the PS4 is a console that Sony is still producing and releasing games on. In fact, this year's most popular PlayStation game, God of War Ragnarok is Buy D2R items Switch still scheduled to be available on PS4 whenever it does arrive.
