A long time after Inarius and Lilith have secretly created Sanctuary for the Nephalem - the offspring of both angel and man, the Council of Archangels convened to decide on humanity's fate. It was Tyrael who cast the decisive vote and this means that he's responsible for this decision by other members of the Angiris Council, leading to him becoming mortal prior to happenings in Diablo 4 all for the humanity's sake. His role in the coming game is not yet clear however there are probable ways in which this D2R items cheap character may be an influencer in the future of the series.
