Vladimir Putin said that Kasparov's movement "Other Russia" was creating a Soviet-style dictatorship in Russia. Then he accused the United States of trying to taint the legitimacy of Russian parliamentary elections by pressing a group of prominent independent election observers to abandon efforts to monitor the campaign : "According to information we have, it was again done at the recommendation of the U.S. State Department, and we will take this into account in our interstate relations with this country (...) Their goal is the delegitimization of the elections. But they will not achieve even this goal." ---------- L'ancien champion du monde d'échecs Garry Kasparov a été arrêté pendant une marche protestataire samedi dernier à Moscou et condamné à 5 jours de prison. Vladimir Putin a dit du mouvement de Kasparov "L'autre Russie" qu'il était en train de créer un climat de dictature de type soviétique en Russie. Il a ensuite accusé les Etats-Unis de vouloir déligitimer les élections à venir en incitant un groupe d'observateurs indépendants à ne pas suivre la campagne. Il a ajouté qu'il en tiendrait compte dans les relations internationales à venir avec ce pays...
